System inspection

Whether new or existing PV system:
We check the condition and
compliance with all regulations

We check the flawless implementation as well as the condition of existing PV systems and ensure error-free system operation.
From the inspection of the qualitative execution of the system to the verification of compliance with all standards and safety regulations.

Thermography

FLIR0045

Thermography allows for a highly accurate and cost-effective assessment of system condition without disrupting the ongoing
operation.

We do not just create "colorful images," but interpret the recordings professionally and provide
a meaningful report with specific recommendations for action.

We identify:

  • Hotspots
  • High-resistance connections
  • Open cell connectors
  • Short-circuited bypass diodes
  • Strings in open circuit or short circuit
  • Defective junction boxes & wiring errors

Why Thermography:

  • Reduction of fire risk
  • Prevention of yield loss
  • Detection of fault patterns that cannot be identified with the naked eye or traditional testing methods
  • Meaningful assessment of system condition with minimal effort
  • Systems of any size can be tested with reasonable effort

System Safety

Characteristic Curve Measurement PV

As part of the system inspection, all switching and safety devices are tested.
The insulation resistance on the DC side is measured to exclude insulation faults in cables, plugs, or modules. The grounding connection or potential equalization is checked - in combination with the control of the surge protection concept, effective protection in the event of overvoltages and lightning strikes is ensured.
To prevent fire damage, a check of the terminal connections in the junction boxes is carried out.

Furthermore, we conduct a visual inspection of the mechanical construction to detect, for example, open or missing module clamps.

Standards and Guidelines

For photovoltaic systems, there are a number of special guidelines that apply in addition to the general electrical specifications. These address the particularities and dangers arising from the fact that high direct currents occur in PV systems. For example, this includes the ÖVE R11-1 for the protection of emergency personnel, or the ÖVE R6-2-1 and 6-2-2, which deal with lightning and surge protection.

As part of the system inspection, we check compliance with the guidelines.

The system inspection itself is carried out according to ÖVE EN 62446 and ÖVE E8101.

Partner Network

Together with our partners, we can easily offer special measuring methods. Here, electroluminescence or UV fluorescence tests are just as possible as laboratory tests of modules or the analysis of grid quality at specific grid nodes. If defects occur in a system, our electrical partners are available to address the damage.
